These celebrations marked the vibrant Chinese New Year 2025 festivities and a significant milestone: the 50th anniversary of Thai-Chinese diplomatic relations.
The day kicked off at the Government House, where Prime Minister H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra led the proceedings, setting the tone for a day of celebration. The event highlighted the importance of Chinese New Year in Thailand, with insightful speeches by Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, and Mr. Han Zhiqiang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Thailand. Also present were Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, and Mrs. Chang Yumeng, Counsellor for Cultural Affairs at the Chinese Embassy.
The morning’s program dazzled attendees with a lively display of Chinese culture. These acts were generously presented as a symbol of goodwill from China.

In the afternoon, the festivities moved to Central World, where the annual blessing ceremony took center stage—an enduring tradition that symbolizes the strong bond between Thailand and China. The event was marked by the exchange of warm greetings and thoughtful gifts between Minister Sorawong and Ambassador Han Zhiqiang, with the presence of notable figures such as TAT Governor Thapanee and esteemed members of the TAT Board.
