Elon Musk Welcomed 13th Child 5 Months Ago, Says Author Ashley St. Clair

Elon Musk has welcomed his 13th child, born five months ago, as revealed by author Ashley St. Clair. Known for her children’s book Elephants Are Not Birds, St. Clair shared the news through a post on X on Friday, February 14.

“Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father,” she wrote. “I have kept this private to protect our child’s safety, but it has become evident that the media plans to expose it, despite the harm it may cause.”

St. Clair emphasized her desire to keep her child’s life private, asking the media to respect their wishes for a normal, safe environment. She concluded with “Alea Iacta Est,” meaning “The die is cast.”

Musk, who already has 12 children, most recently welcomed twins Strider and Azure with St. Clair in November 2021. He also shares six children with ex-wife Justine Wilson, including twins Vivian and Griffin (20), triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian (18), and son Nevada, who tragically passed away from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

Musk’s relationship with musician Grimes (real name Claire Boucher) also brought three children into the world. Their son X Æ A-Xii was born in May 2020, followed by their daughter Exa Dark Sideræl in 2021 via surrogate. Musk and Grimes, who separated in 2022, also share son Techno Mechanicus.

In a 2020 interview with The New York Times, Musk discussed his role in parenting, joking, “Babies are just eating and pooping machines. Grimes has a much bigger role than me right now. When the kid gets older, there will be more of a role for me.”

In September 2024, Grimes filed a legal petition to establish parental rights for their three children, as confirmed by court documents obtained by Us Weekly.
